CUSTOMER:

CHALLENGE:

  • streamlining and automating the process of obtaining information on the legal status of debtors,
  • to avoid incurring costs resulting from missing the deadline for filing a claim.

RESULT:

  • a significant reduction in the company's operating costs,
  • avoiding the costs of the aforementioned proceedings.

Aforti Collections is one of the leading debt management companies in our country.

The Warsaw-based company generated over 5 million PLN in revenue in 2021 and made our list of the 30 largest debt collection firms in Poland.

For several years, Aforti Collections has been using the MGBI Bankruptcy List, which helps monitor the financial status of both the company’s own debtors and those of its clients.

How did the company search for information on debtors before using the MGBI Bankruptcy List?

We started using the MGBI Bankruptcy List even before the National Debt Register became operational. At that time, the only source of this information was the Court and Economic Monitor. This meant we had to download a PDF file with each new issue, search for the debtors’ PESEL numbers, and then compare them with those in our system.

What has changed since the MGBI Bankruptcy List was launched?

Thanks to the service provided by MGBI, we were able to automate the process of identifying debtors in our portfolio who have filed for bankruptcy or restructuring. As a result, the MGBI tool has allowed us to increase our efficiency, reduce labor costs, improve the quality of our work (the risk of claims being filed more than 30 days after the declaration of bankruptcy has been minimized), achieve scalability, and gain better control over our processes. In addition, connecting to the API has made the entire process much easier.

What are the benefits of using the MGBI Bankruptcy List?

The greatest financial benefit comes from cost savings at the operational level. We obtain information about the debtor’s situation very quickly, almost automatically, and we don’t have to “dig around” for this information manually.

As for the costs we’ve managed to avoid, there have certainly been quite a few over the past few years. On more than one occasion, we learned of changes in a debtor’s circumstances early enough to ensure we didn’t miss the deadline for filing a claim.
